Vin-Ed-U

March 14, 2014 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm

Learn why the very best wine to drink is the one you like best. Sure, “experts” are always talking about flavors, notes and nose. but what do they mean and why are they important? What is important is how you perceive the basic qualities of wine: sweetness, acidity, tannin, fruit and body. Everybody’s sense of taste is unique, and we all perceive these qualities differently, so no one else can really tell you what’s the best wine. At Vin-Ed-U learn about these characteristics by sampling some outstanding wines produced right here on the beach and see how pairing them with the right foods can make great wine even better.

This event is somewhere between a wine tasting and wine dinner.  Small plates of food will accompany each course. The tasting menu is:

with Riesling; grilled veggie crostini with blue cheese/cream cheese

with Chardonnay; turkey, brie and cranberry aioli atop grilled sweet roll

with Pinot Grigio; mini crab cake

with Merlot; mushroom risotto with beef medallion

with Pinot Noir; chicken and pork jambalaya

with Cabernet Sauvignon; dark chocolate brownie with tart cherries

NOTE: We have cancelled the first session (begin at 5pm) so there will be just one session to this class, beginning at 8:00pm.
