Always one of the most popular events of the weekend, join us for the 8th annual OBX Chowder Cookoff, featuring over a dozen local restaurants vying for the title of Best Seafood Chowder, and $1,750 in prize money!

Attendees get to sample all and vote for the People’s Choice favorite.  There will be live music and a fun festival atmosphere. This is a kid and family friendly event. You may bring a very well behaved dog on leash.

The $22 advance tickets include two beverage tickets, and the first 200 advance tickets sold get a free Chowder Cookoff T-shirt!  You will be able to buy tickets at the door (if we don’t sell out) for $25 but those will NOT include any beverage tickets or t-shirt.  Additional beverage tickets and t-shirts will be able to be purchased at the event.  We highly encourage you to purchase in advance and save a few bucks!  Kids 10 and under are admitted free and do not receive any beverage tickets.  You must be 21+ to receive any alcoholic beverages and able to present ID. Non-alcoholic beverages are available as an alternative for those that cannot or prefer not to drink alcohol.

This is an outdoor event in the Southern Shores Crossing Shopping Center, with covered sidewalk, so please dress seasonally. Limited parking on site with overflow parking at the Town of Southern Shores office and at the TOB hotel accommodation sponsor, Hilton Garden Inn (just across the street). This is a rain or shine event with no refunds.
