What a great day – with absolutely perfect weather – we had at Coastal Provisions Market on Saturday March 15th for the 7th Annual OBX Chowder Cookoff.  This super-popular OBX Taste of the Beach event reached record attendance this year at over 600 people! With over 15 restaurants making their best original chowders, there were so many great ones to choose from.  Sampling them all was the goal of every attendee and then of course voting for their favorite.  We also use a panel of qualified food judges to determine the contest winners.  Here are the winners from both segments; the People’s Choice votes and the Judges scoring votes:

Chowder Cookoff Winners:
Judges Overall: 1st place Mulligans; 2nd place Ocean Boulevard; 3rd place Café Lachine.
People’s Choice Winners: 1st Place Awful Arthur’s; 2nd Place Café Lachine; 3rd Place Sugar Creek
